Boeing

September 2010. My father-in-law wanted to make a birthday card for his son's business.  The cake was photographed for the front of the card.  Well, it's actually not a cake.  I covered an upside down cake pan with fondant and decorated it.  One of the easiest 'cakes' ever.  My husband bought the plane online and we just had to wait for it to arrive.  We were thinking about making the plane out of fondant, but decided it would look better as a model on the cake.  The clouds were fun to make.  It's a very thick consistency royal icing.  I think they turned out really fluffy.  And they dried rock hard which was good for transporting and photographing.
